The WA Minister for Health Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 'Our future, our way’ Scholarship is intended to recognise the efforts of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student studying a health-related degree. The ‘WA Minister for Health Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ‘Our future, our way’ Scholarship’ is valued at $5000.

The successful recipient will be required to attend an event hosted by the WA Minister for Health.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • be studying a health-related degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) and completed at least 1 year full-time
  • be on academic 'good standing' OR GREEN course progression
  • Be enrolled full-time (9 credit points or more)
  • have not previously been a recipient of the WA Minister for Health Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health 'Our future our way' Scholarship

How to Apply

Complete the online application below and attach the required documents by the closing date. 

Required Documents

The Scholarship requires you to submit the following documents:

1. Completed online application form (upload your personal statement below in online application form)

2. Personal Statement (no more than 500 words) addressing the following:

  • Why have you chosen to study a health related degree?
  • What do you hope to achieve upon completion of your studies?
  • How will the scholarship help you achieve these goals?

Your application will be reviewed by a selection committee, including a representative from the Department of Health, based on the strength and passion in your personal statement.

Payment Method

Payments will be made directly into your nominated bank account in the following instalments:

  • $5,000 in week 7 or 8 of the semester you are awarded (one off payment)

All payments are subject to your ongoing acceptance and compliance with the terms and conditions of the award.
