Coolibah Care Scholarship Program
The Coolibah Care Scholarship was established in 2007 to provide financial support for students studying nursing who live in the Peel region. The Scholarships are available for award to students in personal and/or financial hardship who are either studying the Bachelor of Nursing or the Graduate Certificate of Gerontological Care at Murdoch University.
Students will need to demonstrate that they have a passion and interest in aged care.
Eligibility
To apply for this scholarship, you must:
- be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- live in the Peel region
- be enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing or the Graduate Certificate in Gerontological Healthcare at the time of application
- be experiencing personal and/or financial hardship
- demonstrate in your references or personal statement that you have a passion and interest in aged care
How to Apply
This scholarship opens for applications on the 5th October 2025. You will need your Murdoch Student ID to access the online application form.

Expressing your interest will enable us to send you a reminder to be one of the first to apply for this scholarship as soon as it opens
Required Documents
This scholarship requires you to provide the following documents:
- completed application form
- a personal statement of no more than 300 words: please include the personal and/or financial hardship you are facing, the impact that is having on you and how the scholarship will assist you to be successful in your studies.
- evidence of financial hardship (e.g. Tax Notice of Assessment or Centrelink Income Statement)
- supporting documentation such as academic transcript and reference
You will need to demonstrate in your references or personal statement that you have a passion and interest in aged care
Payment Method
Payments will be made directly into your nominated bank account in the following instalments:
Bachelor of Nursing:
- $2,500 in week 7 or 8 of the semester you are awarded
- $2,500 in week 7 or 8 of the consecutive second semester
Graduate Certificate in Gerontological Healthcare:
- $2,500 in week 7 or 8 of the semester you are awarded
- $2,500 on successful completion of your course
All payments are subject to your ongoing acceptance and compliance with the terms and conditions of the award.
