Trillion Trees Shirley Fyfe Scholarship
This scholarship is available to support a student’s study for an honours year degree, PhD or Masters in the Discipline group of Environmental and Conservation Science. It is intended for a person whose project focuses on a contemporary environmental issue associated with the health of Western Australia’s native trees in ecosystems. Some examples, where projects can be based around include remote sensing; role of invertebrate and vertebrate fauna in tree health; biology, ecology and management of pests, diseases and beneficial microorganisms; health of native trees in urban and peri-urban landscapes; and sustainable biodiversity plantings.
Eligibility
To apply for this scholarship you must:
- intend to enrol full-time in an honours, PhD or aMRT level course within the Discipline group of Environmental and Conservation Science at Murdoch University
- have a record of high achievement in previous studies or professional work
- intend to conduct research into a contemporary environmental issue in the field of environmental use or preservation of Western Australia's native trees.

Required Documents
This scholarship requires you to provide the following documents:
- completed application form
- a summary of your intended research project
- written confirmation from your proposed supervisor of your project
- a personal statement of two A4 pages maximum
- a written reference from a person qualified to comment on either your academic studies or current or past employment.
Payment Method
Payments will be made directly into your nominated bank account in the following instalments:
- $2000 in week 7 or 8 of the standard academic semester you are awarded
- $2000 in week 7 or 8 of the consecutive standard academic semester
- $1000 upon the successful submission and grading of your Honours thesis, or if undertaking PhD or aMRT, the payment of $1000 will be made upon update of the project in the March of the following year.
All payments are subject to your acceptance and ongoing compliance with the terms and conditions of the award.
