Our Exercise Physiology Clinic (operating Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) provides personalised, evidence-based exercise support to help improve health and wellbeing. Open to students, staff, and the wider community, the clinic is ideal for individuals living with chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and musculoskeletal issues. Our Accredited Exercise Physiologist will develop a tailored exercise program to suit your individual needs, with eligible clients able to access Medicare benefits and/or private health insurance rebates.

Pricing

Consultations

All initial consultations are 45minutes, with subsequent consultations being 30minutes. 

  • Student - $69.74 (inc GST) for the initial consultation, subsequent consultations $69.74 (inc GST)
  • Staff - $88 (inc GST) for the initial consultation, subsequent consultations $77 (inc GST)*
  • Community - $121 (inc GST) for the initial consultation, subsequent consultations $99 (inc GST)*

Other Services 

  • Initial Diabetes Assessment (Medicare) - $93.25
  • Group classes for type 2 diabetes - $23.20 per participant/per class  
  • NDIS (Self-managed and plan-managed clients)
  • Workers Comp
  • DVA

Medicare eligible students will be bulk billed for services which attract a Medicare benefit.

Staff and Community members may be eligible for rebates under Medicare and/or private health insurance.

Meet our Exercise Physiologist 

Kyriacos Christou is an experienced Exercise Physiologist with over 17 years in the industry and a strong passion for helping people regain independence and function through movement. He holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in Exercise and Sports Science, and Exercise Science and Rehabilitation. At Murdoch Active, Kyriacos leads the development and delivery of a comprehensive rehabilitation service, supporting students, staff, and the wider community in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

 Kyriacos provides one-on-one consultations and delivers programs under Medicare, NDIS, DVA, and Workers Compensation, as well as specialised group classes for Type 2 Diabetes. Having experienced injuries himself, he understands the importance of functional movement and takes a personalised, evidence-based approach to help every client build confidence, improve strength, and achieve lasting health outcomes.

An Exercise Physiologist (EP) is a university-qualified allied health professional who uses exercise as medicine to help manage and prevent chronic health conditions, injuries, disabilities, and improve overall health and wellbeing. 

Exercise Physiologists focus on long-term health and management of chronic conditions whilst Physiotherapists focus on acute injuries, pain and initial rehabilitation of injuries. 

No. You can book directly with an Exercise Physiologist. 

However, a referral may be required if you are claiming services through: 

  • Medicare  

  • Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)  

  • Workers' Compensation  

  • NDIS (depending on your plan management arrangements) 

Your Exercise Physiologist will: 

  • Review your medical history  

  • Discuss your goals  

  • Assess your physical function and fitness  

  • Identify any barriers to exercise  

  • Develop an individualised exercise plan

Appointment Cancellation Policy

To ensure appointment times remain available for all clients, we kindly ask that any cancellations or rescheduling requests be made with at least 24 hours' notice.

Cancellation Fees

  • More than 24 hours' notice: No cancellation fee applies.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice: A fee of 50% of the scheduled appointment cost may be charged.
  • Failure to attend (No Show): The full appointment fee may be charged.

Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. Cancellation fees may be waived at the discretion of the clinic in cases such as illness, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances.
